my iMac hit the crapper this week. Multiple reformats and attempted reinstalls of the OS yielded zero positive results. So now the computer is at Alaska Mac Store to get fixed. Got my fingers crossed.
Getting over the whole thing by drinking White Russians and watching The Big Lebowski with good friends tonight.
“Mark it 8 dude.”

So, after taking several months off from playing the incredibly freaking awesome Fallout 3, I’ve come back to it to play the latest expansion pack, “Broken Steel”, which raises the player cap and adds several new quests plus changes the ending. That rocks. Now I can visit even more parts of the Fallout 3 “world” and add to my character at the same time. This is how the game should have been designed in the first place. But, at least they took the criticism and used it to further develop and refine what is one of the greatest games ever made.
It’s still no Tie Fighter but, hey, what is? Well, Fallout 3 is damn close.
Before we left work today we were all given plastic garbage bags and ordered to place them over our work computers. Larger, more ominous looking black plastic bags, were placed over the copiers and printers.

In case you were wondering why we did this just look over here.
I got my new iPhone yesterday and tonight, after several hours of upgrading and modifying my WordPress install, I’m now posting from my phone. It’s pretty cool.
So I went out and did it last night. After months of hemming/hawing I decided that I would just order the damn thing already. What put me over the edge was that tonight (even as I type) my monitor (19″ LCD) on my mid-2005 HP 3.0GHz Pentium 4 is going crazy. Colors are everywhere and there’s a weird ghosting. Yes, I could go out and get a new flat-panel but that would just be chasing after it with bad money.
I should join the Apple ranks (just as my wife did several years ago when I got her a MacBook and several months ago when I bought her another one to replace the first one that got stolen) within a week. I got a refurb one b/c it will save me a couple hundred bucks and I don’t do anything very taxing on my computer any longer. I also ordered 4GB of RAM tonight so I’ll install that when I get the iMac.

Bills. Debt. These things need to get paid. I’ve learned that I’m behind on my website hosting bills. I’ve got to these paid before they cut me off and assign me to the scrap heap.
