Aces 4 Victoria 3

Attended the Alaska Aces – Victoria Salmon Kings game last night at the Sullivan Arena with Anna, Kristin, Carolyn, Anne, Paul and Karen. Drank one of the over-priced ($9.50!) draft beers and about half of a smaller beer. All but Carolyn and Anne met first at the Crossroads, a bar just north of the Arena. Now, the Crossroads is a neighborhood bar with certain amenities that make it a good place to drink. These amenities – like free hot dogs every day of the week and free pulled pork BBQ sandwiches on hockey game nights – provide the good base that a night of drinking requires.

So, the Aces continued their hot streak with their 13th win in 14 games. This made me happy given that last time we went to the game in February when they lost to the Idaho Steelheads (who are leading the ECHL National Conference, West Division) 2-1.

Jury Service

Got called in for jury duty this morning. Walked through the courtroom, made eye contact with the judge and was immediately excused because I work with the case’s prosecutor. I said, “Thank you, sir. Adios!” and walked-out. There goes my constitutional jury duty requirement for this year.

Weekend Trip

Flew to Seattle last week and returned this afternoon. Had a blast with some friends (Matt, Chad, Jim and John). Got all confused as to which Starbuck’s in Symphony Hall we were supposed to meet at (hint: there are two). Drank way too much at Marcus’ Martini Heaven in Pioneer Square. It was a good time.
